    LOCATION: Sorrento foreshore (west side of Sorrento Yacht Club)

    DESCRIPTION: Explore the beautiful protected southern waters of Port Phillip Bay. The waters are clear and azure and full of marine life.

    Participants start just before Sorrento township and firstly gear up, adjust rudders and listen to a safety talk before jumping on the water. You then get use to your double sea kayaks and develop your paddling skills in the shallows.

    You then kayak past historic seaside towns of Sorrento and Portsea with rich maritime and early settlement history. Participants can observe historical mansions along the cliff tops with their outdoor swimming enclosures below.

    Point Nepean National Park and the dolphin sanctuary are next. Bottlenose and Common dolphins frequent this area so it's an amazing feeling when dophins appear beside your sea kayak! I may also see sea eagles, pelicans, pacific gulls and cormorants.

    Lunch stop is on the beach at Point Nepean Park beside the fascinating former quarantine station. Lunch is gourmet rolls, hot and cold drinks, fruit and biscuits. There is time to have a look around the former quarantine station while taking in amazing views of the "Heads" and Queenscliff.

    Then return to start with a break along the way near Pt King to take in a view.

    Location: 300m west of Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, Pier Rd, St Kilda

    Description: For first time paddlers and those who have never had any formal instruction. The aim of this class is to give you a good foundation in the knowledge and skills essential for safe and enjoyable paddling. Single kayak, paddle, PFD, spray deck, pump, spray jacket, thermals and course notes are all supplied and included in the cost. We will fit you to the most suitable single kayak in relation to your height and weight. You can also bring your own sea kayak for a reduced rate.

    You will learn about: kayak equipment and what to wear, manoeuvring your kayak (forward, reverse, side ways, turning and steering) support strokes, sculling, edging, a short afternoons paddle, "wet-exits" and recovery from a capsize.

    While paddling we will discuss tides, weather, navigation, group management, safety and trip planning.

    GRADE: Novice

    DURATION: 1 day (9:30 am to 3:30 pm)

    INCLUSIONS: All kayak equipment (single kayak, pfd, paddle, pump, spay deck, spray jacket, thermals, course notes and 1/2 day single sea kayak hire on the Yarra River to be taken up some time after the course) are all included in the cost.

    LOCATION:  Melbourne City

    DESCRIPTION: Get up and close to ferries and stationary ships while taking in views of South Bank and the City of Melbourne skyline. This kayak tour starts in the city centre, on the Yarra River. After a gearing you up, adjusting your rudders and a safety talk you jump on the water. There are a lot of things to see like the former Customs House, turning basin, Historical ships, former waterfall and "Mission for Seamen". This is the centre of Melbourne so there is lots of vibrant activity. Historical commentary on the old docks area is provided along the way.

    There is a rest stop, half way through the tour, to stretch your legs and have a snack and drink.

    View the sun set on the water and then on the way back observe the spectacular pyrotechnic "fire ball" display at Crown Casino after dark.

    This tour is designed for people with little kayaking experience and who like to paddle in comfort without waves or sea spray.

    The tour is 2.5 hours duration with 2 hours of paddling time.

    Group discount for 10 or more people.

    Discounted pricing for child 12-15 years old is $80, must be in a double kayak with an adult.

    LOCATION: Phillip Island Information Centre, on the south side of the main road in Newhaven. Melways ref. 532 H8.

    DESCRIPTION: Located at the eastern end of Phillip Island is Cleeland Bight which offers sheltered conditions and amazing views.

    After a gearing you up, adjusting your rudders and a safety talk you jump on the water.

    The first section of the sea kayak tour is along a sandy bay where you get great views of San Remo and Kilcunda and practise your sea kayaking skills. You then sea kayak towards Cape Woolamai past huge granite cliffs (reminiscent of Wilson’s Promontory’s landscape) and paddle into or past sea caves.

    Beginners and experienced paddlers will find this area a real adventure. Sea life abounds with seals, penguins, sea eagles and the occasional pod of dolphins.

    The lunch spot is on the return paddle on a sandy beach surrounded by granite rocks. Gourmet rolls, hot and cold drinks, fruit and biscuits provided.

    You then kayak back to the start.

    GRADE: Novice with good general fitness

    LOCATION: Wilsons Promontory is located about 3 hours drive from Melbourne. Corner Inlet is located at the northern end of Wilsons Promontory and is serviced by the townships of Yanakie, Toora, Port Franklin and Port Welshpool.

    DESCRIPTION:

    Take a real sea kayak adventure trip around Wilson's Promontory, Victoria! Be guided for three or four days to secluded marine areas and pristine islands. Includes all kayak gear plus camping gear. Explore some of Australia's best regions by sea kayak... now that's an adventure!

    This is a unique, once-in-a-life-time adventure. Corner Inlet is a spectacular area of granite rocks plunging into azure, clear water. Stunning pink granite rocks separate the coves. Large sections of Corner Inlet are a marine national park. This area is remote and stunning.

    On DAY ONE of your kayaking adventure you will meet your group at Port Welshpool and pack your kayaks. We then paddle for 2 – 3 hours across Corner Inlet bay to Tin Mine Cove or Cattleman's Hut on Snake Island (depends on the weather conditions). Tin Mine Cove is remote and beautiful. There is a creek with drinking water and great snorkelling off the beach! Cattelman's hut is very comfortable bush hut with running water and flushing toilets. Stay inside the huts or bush camp outside and see kangaroos at dusk.

    You will spend the whole of DAY TWO in this special place – visiting islands such as Bennison Island or paddling to Biddies Cove. Alternative activities are bushwalking and snorkelling. Bring your snorkelling gear so you can get a good glimpse of the abundant marine life in the area. You might also see dolphins, seals, sea eagles, cormorants and Cape Baron geese on the journey. This is one of the most spectacularly scenic areas in Australia!

    On DAY THREE we'll make the return journey to the mainland, proud of a truly amazing achievement!

    For the four day tour, an extra day in the middle of the tour would be spent at Johnie Souey Cove, Cattleman's Hut, Biddies Cove or Bennison Island. This will depend on weather, group fitness and speed.

    GRADE: Novice to Intermediate. Good general fitness is required.

    AGE: 16 years and above

    DURATION: 3 days

    PREREQUISITE: It is recommended that people wishing to undertake a multi day tour participate in a full day tour before hand. Good general fitness is required.

    INCLUSIONS: All kayak equipment (double kayak, PFD, spray skirt, paddle, pump, thermal top, spray jacket, dry bags), camping equipment (tent, mat, stove, fuel, lighter, plate, bowl, cup, cutlery, pot scrubber, toilet paper, trowel), Kayak Guide, safety equipment and camp fees. 2-3 Person tents are provided - so you will need to share. If you want to be in a tent on your own then you will need to provide your own hiking tent.

    EXCLUSIONS: Sleeping bag, food, water bladders/bottles and transport is not included in the price). Although, if required, we can provide a lift for up to 3 people, providing prior arrangements are made and you meet at our base.
