Introduction to Sea Kayaking - 2 Day Course

For first time paddlers and those who have never had any formal instruction. The aim of this course is to give you a good foundation in the knowledge and skills essential for safe and enjoyable paddling. You will learn about: kayak equipment and what to wear, manoeuvring your kayak (forward, reverse, side ways, turning and steering) low support, sculling, edging, a short afternoons paddle, "wet-exits" and recovery from a capsize, rescuing others and towing. Sea kayaking theory such as tides, weather, navigation, group management, safety and trip planning. Course includes supply of: single sea kayak, paddle, pump, PFD, spray deck, spray jacket, thermals and course notes. Also included is 1 complementary Half Day Single Sea Kayak hire, (worth $45 and to be taken up some time after the course).

Melbourne City Twilight Tour 7pm

Get up and close to yachts, ferries and ships while taking in views of South Bank and the City of Melbourne skyline. This kayak tour starts in the city centre, on the Yarra River, where you paddle into the city hub past the former Customs House, turning basin, Historical ships, former waterfall and "Mission for Seamen". View people in restaurants and bars eating and drinking. Historical commentary on the old docks area is provided along the way. The twlight tour includes the Crown Casino pyrotechnics display at dusk.

Paddling at twilight is a great way to unwind after work or other commitments.

This tour is designed for people with little kayaking experience and who like to paddle in comfort without waves or sea spray.

The tour is 2.5 hours duration with 2 hours of paddling time.

Snacks and refreshments included.

Group discount for 6 or more people.

Discounted pricing for child 12-15 years old is $70, must be in a double kayak with an adult.

Full Day Tour - Sorrento

The historic seaside towns of Sorrento and Portsea are endowed with rich maritime and early settlement history. Participants can “pass back in time” as they paddle along the foreshore, observing historical houses along the cliff tops, outdoor swimming enclosures, the former quarantine station and historical ship wreck. As clients move closer to Point Nepean, built up areas are left behind. Great chance for dolphins to surface beside your kayak. Lunch and short tour at former quarantine station. Price includes lunch and drinks. Group discount of 6 and above applies.

Full Day Tour - Phillip Island

Woolamai Waters offers sheltered conditions for most of the year. Paddle past huge granite cliffs (reminiscent of Wilson’s Promontory’s landscape) and paddle into sea caves. Beginners and experienced paddlers will find this area a real adventure. Sea life abounds with seals, penguins and the occasional pod of dolphins. The lunch spot is a real “corker”. Includes lunch and drinks. Group discount of 6 and above apply.

Half Day Tour - Williamstown

Williamstown is a vibrant sea side town steeped in history. Observe cargo ships, paddle amongst yachts and jetties while ferries and sea planes hustle in and out of this port. Tour options include paddling over the channel to Sandridge Beach or paddle along the protected waters of Williamstown foreshore. Fish and Chips for lunch is included and is served on the Williamstown foreshore during the tour. Get a taste for what sea kayaking is all about without travelling to far out of town. Group discount for 6 or more people. LUNCH INCLUDED.
