    6 to 18 mt

Queenscliff Harbour 1330 Portsea Pier 1350

The Supermarket area is a large rocky outcrop that runs out from Lonsdale Beach outside Port Phillip Heads off the Barwon Coast in Bass Strait. There used to be an outfall from the abattoir on the other side of the sand dunes many years ago, but this has now gone.

The rock outcrop used to be home to hundreds of Crayfish, Port Jackson Sharks and Wobbegongs. The Crayfish are not as plentiful here as they once were but they can still be found. This site is only suitable for diving when conditions are calm as it is quite prone to surge from swell that might be running.

  • 9:30 am - Golden Arch - 23M
Queenscliff Harbour 0930 Portsea Pier 0950

Golden Arch, also known as Cuttle Arch, is a very nice reef dive site.

The mark is on the eastern side of the reef, pretty close to an old cray pot. Turn right and follow reef like Castle Rock to a 10 metre long arch with Yellow Zoanthids underneath. Go through the arch and explore the reef scattered on the west side which is home to Giant Australian Cuttlefish and a family of Blue Groper. Almost certain to see White Barred Boxfish there as well.

  • 9:00 am - Double Wreck Dive (Canberra and J4 Submarine) 22m+
Bring 2 cylinder's onto boat, also redundant air for...

Queenscliff Harbour 0900 Portsea Pier 0920

This double dive offers divers the opportunity to experience two of the most intact wrecks in the area. 30m minimum certification is required and a wreck certification plus redundant air will be required if you plan to penetrate the wrecks. Please bring 2 tanks, as we do not come back between dives.

The ex-HMAS Canberra is a magnificent wreck dive and Victoria's first artificial reef created for scuba diving. The wreck is 138m long and lies in 30m of water, off Barwon Heads. It has much to see, with the entire superstructure accessible, as well as the inside of the wreck for those trained in wreck penetration. Since 2009, when it was scuttled, the wreck has attracted a great deal of marine life and continues to be one of the most popular dives in Melbourne.

The J4 Submarine is a beautiful wreck and reef site and is the most accessible, dive-able submarine in Australia. The sub sits on its keel in around 26m of water. The conning tower is intact and in great condition, and the bow section broke off during scuttling and exposed the torpedo tubes, which makes this section easily accessible to divers without the need to penetrate the wreck. For those certified to penetrate, there are multiple hatch openings as entry points.

The alternate site due adverse weather conditions will be a double drift dive.

    Certification required: ADV - 30M

    Available: 16
